CoworkingLexington

There are lots of good things happening on the coworking front in Lexington, KY, as I'm sitting here hard at work in the unfinished Awesome Space at 348 East Main Street . It will soon be finished. Come by and check it out.

The owners of the space are Luke Murray and Brian Raney, two guys interested in helping entrepreneurs and startups in Lexington and beyond. The Awesome Space is just one piece of their support. Contact them for more information.

The Awesome Space, a place for:

  • Entrepreneurs
  • Creatives
  • Startups

The location is very nice. Awesome is in the same building with two area architecture firms and a marketing agency. If you're from around Lexington, you've passed by this space thousands of time. It's on East Main just across from Dunkin' Donuts, and if you prefer Starbucks to Dunkin' for your coffee (as I do), it's a 3 block walk.

The space is also very nice. It is mostly open, with about 4000 square feet of "working" space and 2000 square feet of storage and space for "other" use. Other use is yet to be determined but mostly likely it will be for things like green screening and used by engineering hacks to create robots or something :-). The working area is divided into three areas, As you enter there is dance floor to the left, where Premiere Dance comes in for classes in the evenings (a nice way for coworkers to wind down their work, I must say). During the day, this front space is dedicated to reception and incubator space. Next there is a nice all-glass conference room, and beyond that is the coworker space. Currently it has 8 desks, but could hold far more than that if necessary. And last, in the back of the space, is the break room with a nice kitchen, a couple seating areas, vending, ping pong table and pop-a-shot (which is still on the ground, so I'm not sure if it's fully functioning!).

Over all, it's one of the best coworking arrangements I've seen. I'm a client, but also am very involved in the coworking movement and have visited (physically or virtually online) many coworking establishments.

Come in, check it out and stay if you can!
